the “mistakes” collection is about mistakes, it highlights garments that were meant to turn out differently but, due to one or more errors, were revisited and adapted into a new form.
I believe that art, at its core, is about creating through destruction.
this explores the concept of antifragility mentioned in “vision stretches.”
the mistakes here are divided into two categories: direct and indirect errors: direct errors, creative mistakes, which I will explore below; indirect errors refer to production mistakes, which I prefer not to delve into.
focusing on the direct errors, various types of mistakes have raised questions for me: When is an idea truly yours? Where do we draw the line between taking inspiration and copying?
when I see something I really like, I often find myself taking too much inspiration from it.
therefore, I don’t think I can answer these questions; I don’t feel I have the experience necessary to address such a complex issue.
we can consider this collection as a flawed response to this dilemma. I believe it’s very diminishing for a designer to not consider their ideas as their own.
this is the reason why, after this collection, the direction of the project changes, leading to the creation of "blank:quiete"
